“You are not a project to fix. You don't have to fix yourself to be lovable, successful, or seen.”
I’m Danni Adams creator, speaker, and founder of Shyne Wayv. I’ve spent the last six years using storytelling and strategy to help people feel seen. My work lives at the intersection of media, healing, and culture, and I’m passionate about building spaces where beauty isn’t based on shrinking, but on showing up fully. Whether I’m on stage or behind the scenes, I lead with care, creativity, and truth.

How did you break out of the box of perfectionism?
Danni Adams: I broke out of the box that said fat Black women have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously. I used to believe I had to constantly prove I was worthy by overachieving, by shrinking myself, by always being “on.” But I realized I could just be. Rest is radical. Joy is resistance. And my body, just as it is, has always been powerful.
What advice would you give your younger self about the pressure to be perfect?
Danni: You are not a project. You don’t have to fix yourself to be lovable, successful, or seen. The world will try to shrink you don’t help it. Protect your softness, honor your needs, and let the pressure go. Being human is enough. You are enough.
"I protect my peace like it's sacred, because it is."
How has your perception of beauty and success changed over the years?
Danni: I used to believe beauty had rules be smaller, be quiet, be pleasing. Now I know beauty is expansive. It’s in joy, presence, softness, and boldness. Success used to mean doing the most. Now it means living in alignment, making impact, and resting without guilt.

What helps you live authentically?
Danni: Letting go of the idea that I have to earn love or respect through performance. I live more authentically when I listen to my body, tell the truth about my needs, and create from a place of wholeness not just hustle.
How do you practice self-love?
Danni: By refusing to abandon myself. That means moving my body in ways that feel good, saying “no” when I need to, and showing up even when I don’t feel perfect. I give myself grace, I make room for joy, and I protect my peace like it’s sacred because it is.
What are ways you honor your body?
Danni: I honor my body by witnessing it not fixing it. I speak to it with compassion, celebrate what it can do, and rest when it asks me to. I wear clothes that feel like home and create routines that support my healing. My body is not a problem to solve it’s a partner to care for.
"Beauty is expansive."
