How did you discover Beyond Beauty Project?
Through Instagram and in loving the message behind "Beyond Beauty Project" I became a loyal follower.
How did you break out of the box of perfectionism?
I "broke out of the box" of the misconceptions regarding the aging woman. One of the benefits of aging, for me, is the fact that perfectionism had to go. It simply became too difficult to maintain the perfect face, the perfect body and actually the perfect life. Once I accepted this fact, which took a while, I honestly felt a sense of relief and ease.
What advice would you give your younger self about the pressure to be perfect?
I would tell my younger self that it's impossible to be perfect. That "perfection" is an elusive pursuit and ultimately a waste of time. Also, it's very anxiety producing. It's simply chasing a dream which becomes a nightmare. I'd tell myself to f*ck perfectionism and spend the energy finding purpose and meaning and live joy as the compass.
How has your perception of beauty changed over the years?
My perception of beauty has changed as I've aged into my 70's. It's no longer worrying about wrinkles, or hating my crepey skin, or my sagging body. It's about kindness. It's about honesty and openness. It's truly about the beauty within that shines out.

What helps you live authentically?
Actually, Age has helped me live authentically. I've stopped worrying about what others think of me. It's given me the freedom to explore who I truly am and not be guided by fear of judgment. Whew! What a relief to feel this way.
How do you practice self-love?
I practice self love by trying not to be so critical of myself. Truthfully, it will always be a work in progress. My focus, over the last decade, has been building The Pro-Age Woman platform, and I've recently decided to slow down. I realized I needed more balance in my life and I've begun to make that happen.
What are ways you honor your body?
I honor my body by keeping it strong. I've done Pilates for years and now have switched to Barre classes. I try to take walks as often as I can. I eat a well-balanced diet and have just begun to focus on building my immune system.
About Meri
Meri Frischman is a native New Yorker. Initially she started her career in the retail end of fashion, designing and selling children’s shoes imported from Europe. Upon turning forty and wanting to leave retail, Meri’s desire to help women live their best lives led her to getting certified as a phobia and anxiety specialist. Once again, not feeling fulfilled, she decided to pivot and follow her passion. At fifty, she became a Fitness and Wellness Professional coaching the woman 50 + at one of the leading NYC facilities where she accrued an impressive list of successful entrepreneurial clients.
As you can tell, every decade has brought something new and the 60’s and now 70’s are no exception. From 2017 to the present, Meri has been the Founder of the The Pro-Age Woman, championing the movement of aging with positivity, curiosity and relevance.
Meri believes that through representation and inclusion the actualization of this population of women will organically dispel the “old” inaccurate perceptions of women and aging; therefore The Pro-Age Woman digital magazine was born.
The latest addition to The Pro-Age Woman is The ProAge Alliance which is a membership community with the goal of creating connection, collaboration and community while fighting against sexist ageism.
