It’s National Mental Health Awareness Month! ✨Your reminder for the month ahead to take really good care of your body, honor your limits, and move with intention❤️

To all the women feeling heavy about their self-beliefs, I see you! This work feels a bit heavier recently. I think because of the constant noise about Botox, Filler, GLP-1s, lower facelifts, and and and and ....the endless list of things to “fix.” These conversations — sometimes seemingly innocent — often come with much deeper-rooted emotions.

When these messages make my head swirl, I always come back to my daughter and our daughters! I’m doing this work so I can heal myself, so the cycle can end with me, for her.

It’s a CONSCIOUS choice I choose to filter what I say about my body, my thoughts about food, and to be thoughtful before speaking when she asks questions about her body.

To further rewrite these narratives, I made a free downloadable worksheet, the Body Gratitude Map, for you to work on with your daughter! Comment ‘CONSCIOUS,’ and I’ll send it to your DM.

If you’re a Mom around my age, you might have grown up in the ‘90s Waif Era, ultra-thin heroin chic, and quite frankly, 2026 is feeling a lot like those times. But amidst all the noise of “thinner,” “bigger lips,” “chiseled cheekbones,” and “quick fixes,” I do have hope.

I have hope in us women who are choosing to do the work that our children can feel. It’s an opportunity to have conversations and to lead with self-trust, thereby inherently building body respect for ourselves and our little ones.

Anna is an international editorial and celebrity makeup and hair artist, the founder of The Beauty Confidante, and a woman who understands that “beauty is not something we apply, but an energy we reveal when we feel safe, confident, and fully ourselves.”

For over twenty-five years, she has worked with publications like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle, and alongside remarkable women including Lady Gaga, Michelle Yeoh, and Brooke Shields.

As an artist, Anna is rooted in a belief that BBP has always believed: Beauty comes from within, from authenticity, individuality, and the courage to live in alignment with your truest self.

Taryn, poet and author, writes honestly about the inner landscapes of healing, becoming, and the in-between spaces of life, offering a refreshing take on our current world.

Like Bridgett, Taryn grew up with a journal always in hand. A safe place to make sense of the weight of the beauty standards and body image struggles during her teen years.

Through Taryn’s studies in neuroscience and philosophy, her words remind us of the delicate ways our minds and bodies are connected, and that we’re all learning to move through life with a little more gentleness toward ourselves.

New Substack: “Revisiting Harm Is Not the Same as Taking Responsibility”

When America’s Next Top Model aired in ‘03, I didn’t watch because I had been living in the same industry that the show glamorized.

But I did just watch the recent documentary that revisited the harm done without anyone truly taking responsibility for it.

The documentary could have been a moment to acknowledge that fame and reality tv was more protected than people.

It made me wonder why this documentary was made in the first place — especially when Tyra framed it as her chance to “finally say her part.”

Replaying pain without deep accountability doesn’t heal anyone. It just asks the people who were hurt to relive it again.

In my opinion, this was a very missed opportunity to tell the truth.

Mom, what were you like in the ‘90s?

I was trying to figure the world out. I wasn’t completely grounded yet, but I always seemed to find a way to make things happen for myself.

I left home young and took care of myself. I was traveling the world, modeling, living in about eight different countries, and learning about different cultures.
Some days I felt incredibly confident… and other days it felt like I had none at all.

I fell in love a few times and had my heart broken a few times, too.
I was also beginning to educate myself about my body and holistic nutrition.
But mostly, I was just finding myself.
