Heidi Clements

Beauty of the Month

This month's Beauty of the Month is Heidi Clements. We discovered Heidi because of her no-nonsense style when it comes to beauty, aging and living! Her unapologetic voice reminds us that choosing ourselves isn’t selfish, but transformational. A writer and pro-aging influencer, Heidi is redefining how the world views women over 50, using her unique fashion, raw storytelling, and honest humor to celebrate her experience of aging free from societal standards.

"My life is beautiful because I choose me every day - something we are taught is selfish."

Heidi Clements (64) wants to change the way the country looks at women over 50. A former tv writer turned social media influencer, Heidi uses fashion and storytelling to help reframe the way people look at aging. Heidi has worked in both magazine news and entertainment news running shows like Entertainment Tonight, before moving into scripted television at 51. After producing 100 episodes of the Freeform’s Baby Daddy, Heidi decided to shift her script focus and now only writes about women over 50. Heidi is now focused on turning her social media into a business and spreading the word about pro-aging, anti-alcohol and general ideas about life, love, the pursuit of happiness and crushing the patriarchy.

How did you break out of the box of perfectionism?

Heidi Clements: I broke out of the box that the only acceptable life for a woman is being married with children. I didn't plan on being single and childfree at 64, but I've never looked back with any kind of sorrow. My life is beautiful because I choose me every day - something we are taught is selfish.

What advice would you give your younger self about the pressure to be perfect?

Heidi: I would give my younger self advice to quit drinking much sooner and figure out why I was trying to drown out my problems.

"I choose not to let other people define me and instead understand how beautiful it is to be a perfectly imperfect me."

How has your perception of beauty and success changed over the years?

Heidi: My perception of beauty and success changed the minute I realized that how I felt on the inside affected how I look on the outside. Happiness is natures plastic surgeon.

What helps you live authentically?

Heidi: Being honest about who I am.

How do you practice self-love?

Heidi: I choose not to let other people define me and instead understand how beautiful it is to be a perfectly imperfect me.

What are ways you honor your body?

Heidi: Walking, exercising, bike riding.
