We are excited to announce our first Beauty of 2026 is @jaynemattingly ✨

Jayne’s work centers on what she so powerfully names Body Grief: the quiet, complicated, and very real mourning that can arise when your body changes, when life takes an unexpected turn, or when the body you live in no longer mirrors the one you once knew.

She is a nationally recognized disability advocate, body image speaker, and author of This Is Body Grief.

What we most appreciate about Jayne’s work is how deeply human it is.

Having grown up with a mom in a wheelchair, I’m especially inspired by how Jayne gives language to experiences that are so often lived quietly and invisibly.

We’re honored to feature Jayne as our first 2026 Beauty of the Month, for her writing and art, and for her courage in giving language to experiences so many of us feel but rarely know how to name.

I disappeared for a second there — I wanted to share why. :)

This summer truly brought me to my knees — my feet felt like someone swiped them right out from under me.

What started as exhaustion and anxiety turned out to be something deeper. Lyme and mold toxicity, coupled with the stress of life, brought everything to a full stop — a pace my body demanded, even when my spirit resisted.

It terrified me, humbled me, and sent me spiraling down rabbit holes in search of answers.

I spent the past few months reading, researching, listening, learning, crying, sleeping, surrendering, and connecting with others walking a similarly confusing road.

I questioned everything — my body, my strength, my faith, my ability to keep going.

My confidence wavered. My world shrank.

But through it all, my grit and resilience showed up for me.

Healing has a way of breaking you wide open, but it also rebuilds you — piece by piece — into someone more grounded, more grateful, and more you. 🤍

To anyone walking a similar path, healing is often messy and frustrating, and it's definitely not always linear — but it's always worth it. 🤍
